YOGA
Yoga is an ancient Indian practice.
The word means "union." The practice of yoga can unite our mind,
body, and spirit so we can experience balance and good health. It
involves exercise through the use of physical postures (asanas),
breathing and meditation. Yoga is now an integral part of
stress-reduction programs in health facilities across the U.S. Research
indicates yoga can reduce stress and fatigue, lower blood pressure, and
aid in relaxation; improve concentration, tone muscles, increase energy
and flexibility, sustain physical balance, enhance overall health as
well as mental and emotional well-being. Yoga is an excellent
adjunct therapy to our behavioral health programs as both encourage
methods of relaxation and greater self-awareness.
Our presentation of Hatha Yoga is
spiritually neutral. We also offer Christian Yoga as an
alternative for those who seek to promote their Christian spirituality.
