PIERING
Clinical & Sport Psychologist, CC-AAASP
Dr. Piering has expertise in sport psychology and the psychology of excellence. With this he helps athletes create and maintain an ideal psychological profile that will help unleash their physical abilities, and promote peak performance. He helps coaches and trainers develop superior leadership skills necessary for a more positive influence, and a greater impact on their players and teams. He also assists parents in providing their children with an environment in which they can thrive. Dr. Piering is also the director of THE PROMETHEUS PRINCIPLE, S.C. where he serves as a Clinical & Sport Psychologist, CC-AAASP. He is currently the team sport psychologist for the Milwaukee Wave and the Milwaukee Wave United. He also consults with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's athletic department. He enjoys working with athletes whose interest and ability range from recreational to elite and world class. Finally, Dr. Piering has broad experience in the field of mental health and is also prepared to address a wide range of issues. He currently serves as a Forensic Psychologist and expert witness for Waukesha and Racine Counties. He has obtained specialty credentials in the area of geriatrics and consults to several nursing homes in Southeastern Wisconsin. He also provides psychotherapy on a traditional out-patent basis where he welcomes issues of depression, anxiety, adjustment, and life transition. He works with individuals, groups, couples, and families. He utilizes a "strengths approach" that allows him to draw from a variety of therapeutic tools in order to uniquely serve each client.
